Holistic Coaching FAQ's

1. What is coaching?
Coaching is a partnership between a coach and a client. They work together, to help identify the clients needs. Through a series of open ended questions, the client will find the answers within themselves to maximize their personal and professional goals. Coaching uses a custom approach that is supportive to help the client achieve clarity and confidence to work through situations that are holding them back from enjoying a more productive and harmonious life.

2. Is coaching right for me?
If you answered yes to any of the questions on the website, then coaching would be a great benefit for you.

3. Describe the Holistic approach used at Ageless Beginnings™?
The Holistic approach is simply looking at all areas of an individual’s life and how they relate to each other. When a change occurs in one area of our life, it affects other areas of our life too. Areas, such as, career, relationships, health, etc. The core of my program is self care. It has been observed that when we take care of our selves, we then allow ourselves to find the answers within, to move forward in a productive direction. At Ageless Beginnings™ we use a Holistic assessment form that takes into account ten key area’s of your life. Based on the client’s results, we can then define which areas to address and prioritize.

4. Why do you call it "Ageless Beginnings™?"
I believe that you can start a new beginning at any age. We all have the answers within ourselves to define what it is we need to create change. It is my belief that when we are happy and optimistically looking forward, we do not let our age define what we do. Hence the name "Ageless Beginnings™".

5. Where is the coaching sessions held?
My practice is both local and national. I see clients in my office in Montclair, NJ or we speak over the phone. A lot of coaches work over the phone for the convinence of their clients. I have coached clients as faraway as California, Seattle, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.

6. How long are the coaching sessions?
Weekly 45 minute sessions. However you can email or call me between sessions.

7. How long should one be coached?
Most coaches will tell you that you should work with them for 3 months.Although it sometimes will take 3 months for a change to occur, I believe all individuals are unique. I do not use a cookie cutter approach to coaching. Because everyone’s needs are different, I help my clients co-create a custom plan of action to move forward.

8. How much will it Cost?
I offer a complementary introductory session. If you choose the service, single as well as packaged sessions are available.

9. What is the difference between psychology and coaching?

The difference can be stated by looking at three elements, orientation, goals and relationship.

In Orientation
Therapy focus is on helping clients deal with the past
Coaching focus is on the future

In relation to goals
Therapy is aimed to "Fix Problems"
Coaching helps the client create new opportunities and get more out of life

Relationship with client
The therapist /client relationship is often based on an expert-patient model
The coach and the client are partners in working together
Coaching is not psychology. Mental health parctioners utilize a long process of in depth analysis in which they try to discover the root cause or origin of a particular disorder. In a coaching relationship, we partner with our clients to help them co-create a plan of action to move forward in achieving their goals
